New Developments and Grant Support

New indoor seating and espresso machine

We have some exciting news about developments at the Blue Rabbit Cafe. Thanks to a very generous grant from East Suffolk Council “Plan for the Future” scheme (delivered by New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership and East Suffolk Council) we have been able to invest in some indoor seating in a fabulous converted shipping container. The grant has also allowed us to buy a fabulous new espresso machine so you will be able to get delicious espresso, cappuccino and lattes at the Blue Rabbit to have with your home-made cakes and cookies. And we now have wi-fi too.

As a result of the East Suffolk Council funding for this project we are excited to announce that the Blue Rabbit will be opening at weekends for breakfast/brunch and lunch from April 2022 onwards. We are committed to providing a farm-to-fork experience for customers and as usual our meat, vegetables, fruit and eggs are all grown right here on the Blue Rabbit smallholding.

We will be selling home-made soup, sandwiches and toasties (with ham from our rare-breed pigs as well as vegetarian and vegan options), home-made tarts and quiches and a selection of seasonal salads as well as the usual Blue Rabbit cakes. There will also be home-baked waffles, croissants, french toast, bacon sandwiches etc for late breakfasts or brunch. Opening times will be 9.30-1.30 at weekends and we will expand to weekday opening too.  See our menu here for more details.

We are hoping to open for longer hours really soon and to organise some pop-up farm-to-fork dinner events ….. so watch this space for updates and photos …..

We were also generously supported by the @newanglialep ERDF Business Growth Programme and Visitor Economy Grant Scheme who helped us to buy a new phone and computer for the business. Thank you very much to New Anglia and the European Union for supporting small rural businesses like ours.
